A great day for HGL -- and a great month. On March 1 the contract award was signed, in a small but ebulliant ceremony.
And as of today, we have the building consent.
The big project is underway! After all these years, we are getting there.
It has been hectic, believe me. At the beginning of February Aoraki submitted the first of many documents, leading to the first of many roundtable discussions abut costing and schedules, and mulling over drafts and plans, concluding with the construction contract award on February 26, and the signing.
Martin Hubbard and his team at TBIG have been amazing. As Chris Garrett told the board, Martin's dedication, hard work, and total focus on getting the best result for HGL has been outstanding.
Aoraki have been great. Chris Goldsbury, Nitin and Kirk have answered each and every question (and I have been persistent to the point of total irritation) carefully and precisely. And, with them, there is the team from Studio Pacific. Max and Marc have listened patiently, and drawn up plans exactly as I asked, in response to queries from concerned shareholders.
Their PR has been first class. Remember the stunningly successful Show and Tell?
The site is being set up on Wednesday.
