CHRISTABEL GIBSON

Many residents will remember Christabel, who reigned in the Garden Apartment and looked after our gardens.  Judy Myers was in charge of the bottom garden, and Christabel the top garden, and there was a lot of cooperation and communication.  Two people who have given so much to Herbert Gardens.

Yesterday some of us were fortunate to be at the launch of Christabel's latest book, her memoir!  Sadly, the author passed away one year ago, but happy memories of her were shared, while everyone had a lovely time.  Our jovial host was her son, Dave Gibson, and many of the family were there.

As soon as I got home, I read the book from cover to cover.   Her writing style was so distinctive, remembered well from the many notes she made to me and her newsletters with updates on the gardens.

It's a precious possession, but anyone who would like to borrow it is welcome to ask me -- as long as they promise to return it!
